WHO WE ARE-WHAT WE'RE DOING

Heritage Nursery West is a wholesale nursery.  Our location is approximately 10 miles South of Lincoln, Nebraska near the town of Roca. We have been growing and selling quality nursery stock, perennials, shrubs and trees, since 2002. Our customers include landscape companies and retail garden centers.

We take pride in our plant production. Over 90% of our perennial and grass inventory is grown on sight.  We also grow a fair number of our shrubs and trees.  We grow thousands of plants alone just for our mother nursery in Elkhorn, Nebraska.   During our busy season we send 2 to 3 full cargo trucks to Elkhorn weekly and at times daily. Grower/production manager Conrad Gilbertson expands our in house production more each year. Conrad oversees a crew of 10-15, depending on the season, as well as keeping daily checks on irrigation, cutting back, propagation, greenhouse climate control, bumping up containers, researching custom grow crops and ordering equipment and supplies. The list goes on.

Fall 2009 finds our general manager Scott Pickering taking on the job of foreman directing our crew in the erection and construction of two new greenhouses, two new hoop houses and a propagation house. This fall Scott has spent much of his time studying plans, leveling ground, setting posts, and squaring sites. Lately this has been accomplished while battling strong winds cool temps and the threat of rain and snow in early October. As if this isn't enough he also continues to oversee tree production and the whole operation making sure that things run smoothly and we're all doing a good job.
